What is a "Website Card"???

September 1, 2015

The simple answer to the question, "What is a website card?", is that it is a card that directs your wedding guests to visit your wedding website.

Weddings are one of the only times in modern society that we send actual {social} mail.  Think about it. Ten to twenty years ago we would have sent a friend a birthday card in the mail, and today many of us get a little mesage on our FaceBook wall.  Weddings are just different.  Opening up a FaceBook message, an Evite invitation, or simple email with thr words "You are cordially invite..." just is not the same as getting a thick envelope in your mailbox, with your name beautifully scribed across the front.  It's exciting!!

There is just so much information that needs to be conveyed to your wedding guests.  Things such as parking information, dress code, where to stay, directions, extra ceremony details, reception info, the list goes on.  This is all information that could be conveyed in your wedding invitation suite by way of about 10 little cards.  If your budget allows for that, that is awesome!  But many of us do not have quite that high of a budget.  This is where the wedding website comes in!  Most of you already have (or have plans to) a wedding website.  A website card simply directs your guests to it.

Example wording for a wedding website card:

A website card can simply be one additional card in your suite.  You could still have your main invitation, rsvp card, reception card, etc. and then yoru website card.  Or you could have your main invite and only the website card.  This little card can direct guests to rsvp right on your wedding website.  Forgoing the traditional RSVP card is an easier way to do RSVP's, can save you money, but some clients also fear that Aunt Betty may get confused.  All of this needs to be thought about for your particular needs and situation.
